Pas de Deux

It's not always harmony around here. Remember, they both have to go to the vet when one has to go to avoid the snafu of the visit when Harper did not recognize her smell. But in general, I would say always try to adopt two littermates for a happy family.

I'd love to be able to adopt a mom and her kittens and keep them all together. I don't think we have any idea how they feel when the kittens are suddenly taken away.

I feel the same way about my little buns. I'm happy I adopted Fiona and Orlando together.

Nice photos of Harper and Ramona. Maybe you could keep a blanket/towel that they sleep on in the car, when one goes to the vet. Then when they are out of the vet, rub that blankie, towel all over them to rescent them.

Have a nice weekend, has the snow left your property yet, or are you still semi buried?

I took Shaggy & Scooby together. If not they would have been adopted out seperately and at 3 years old, that would have been tough for them.

We go to the vet together too even if only one of us has an appt. I do not like to ride in the car!!! Riley puts his paw around me and keeps me calm and grooms my ears so it's not so bad. He actually LIKES the vet, so it's a nice little trip for him. I feel better at the vet because he's there. It's good to have a littermate!

Lovely pictures of Harper and Ramona. And the kitten pictures in the previous post are cute too. We're glad that Abby found her new person.

My sister Hattie and I were adopted together when we were 8. We would not have liked to be split up then. But then she died so now I am a spoilt only cat. My mum would get me a new sibling but she is not sure how I would take it at my age now (12).

I had a foster cat and her three kittens once they were born (she's now my full-time regular cat) and honestly, I think she was pretty much just relieved when they moved on.

She was a great mama, but she had the weight of the world on her shoulders. She has a new lease on life now.

She had a short period of seeking out little fluffy toys and bringing them places (substitute kittens?) but now she's a napping, snacking, feather-toy-playing feline machine.

Me again - I just caught up on past posts and my Nora sounds just like Kylie. There's so much going on in her eyes - she looks like she might open her mouth and tell me a long story any minute.

Those are lovely photos. There is definitely a special bond between mommy cat and her kittens. Our Yaffa and Sebastian are a mom and boy kitty pair and they are extra affectionate towards each other.
