Rainbow and Storm

How is it possible, I ask myself, to feel so sad over the end of a cat I have never met? Somehow Ramona seems to know, she came in and cried a few lonely sounding cries. I will go give her a hug.

I guess it is because we all know how it feels to say goodby to a lovely feline soul and to hope we will all meet again at the Rainbow Bridge.

I have asked myself this question over and over because each time I hear of one cat losing their battle it makes me get too close to that gnawing raw edge at the pit of my stomach...the one that points to the inevitablity of losing my own precious furrball...and feeling the pain of losing past ones...it never goes away..

Very true, an animal lover loves all animals, and so we feel great sadness at their passing as we remember ours who have crossed to the bridge. But how could we not? We're purring for Storm's family. Farewell, sweet Stormie.

Very nice post and such honest comments from Debra and Gandalf & Grayson. It is amazing how we can feel such pain over animals we have never met in person. Yet each time we feel the pain of another's loss because we have all been there and we know the next loss could be one of our own. So we encourage one another through the pain.
