The Berlin Nine

Here are photos taken two weeks ago of the rescued animals. That is Tiny (in front) and Lucy. Tiny is the one who weighed 2.8 pounds. She is quite content to be in the hospital (she now weighs five pounds) where she has food 24/7 and toys and comfort and care. Lucy is still shy but also calm and content.

This is Tracy.

Jimmy the Dog who is doing amazingly well and shows no ill will towards people at all. He is full of energy and ready for a new home.

Sidney.

Meeko.

Simon.

Spencer whose ears show the effects of a horrendous ear mite infection. They will stay like this.

And Miss Pinky Lee who has made a remarkable recovery and has her bags packed ready for a new life as someone's glamour girl. Memories, all alone in the moonlight.

I sit here with my two happy, fat kittens purring away and am well aware that contentment is not shared by all of these lovely, loving creatures. They are so happy to have me back!

The day the world eradicates cruelty to animals is the day we have returned to the garden.

Oh, they are all such beautiful animals! I hope they find their furever homes very soon.

I just want to scoop them all up and spoil them silly. Miss Pinky Lee is gorgeous and reminds me of my Jasper. They are all beautiful and I hope they find the beans who deserve their love. I'll have to find a picture of Bits, a cat from our family who had bad ear mites when he was a kitten and forever had sideways ears. He was a real lover and dogs shook in his presence. Best of luck to all of them.

They are all so beautiful and sweet. Their little personalities just shine through their eyes. My Heather got a hematoma in one ear from allergies (she shook her head too hard). One ear flopped from that point on. I loved her sweet silly little face with that floppy ear. Your story made Paul and me cry. I'm so glad there are kind people in the world, to try to make up for what horrid people do (and don't do).

What a terrible thing. Is it just me, or do they all look a little sad around the eyes?

I hope they find good, loving homes very soon. They're all so beautiful.

Several of the cast do have a sad cast to their eyes. Only a sick twisted human can cause this kind of devastation to an animal's spirit. I look at the pictures of my cats and gladly see that they do not bear this horrible mark of human cruelty.

Seeing their dear little faces just makes it hit home harder for me. What lovely creatures. They've seeen too much of the bad side of people, now lets pray they will live forevemore with the comfort and companionship of good humans.

Oh, how can anyone leave their beautiful pets like these to die? *shakes head*

I just hope those cruel folks don't ever keep another animal again.

Poor little things. Simon is so handsome and really looks like my mum's old cat. Wish I could adopt him. I hope they all get wonderful homes very soon and the bad times become a distant memory for them.
