Digging to China

Olof and I were talking about ritoileys after reading the comments and we remembered one, unusual ritoiley that belongs to Brendan, our very dignified senior, Mr. Everything in Moderation. I don't know how Olof discovered this but this is how it goes...

There is a newspaper on the kitchen island.

Brendan is also on the kitchen island, near said newspaper.

Olof winds Brendan up by running his hands rather intensly quickly down Brendan's back over and over until..

Brendan responds by digging into the newspaper and going at it just like a dog on the beach.

When the winding up winds down, he looks over at Olof saying, I ran down and Olof winds him up again.

And so it goes. We call it Digging to China.

We're going to have to try to get a photo sequence of this one.

That's wonderful! Your descriptions are so perfect - I can just see him doing it.

Brendan sure is an awesome looking guy. That's a great story too.

Brendan and Silas both look like gorgeous cats. We used to have a cat called Tigger who had a ritoiley of throwing himself spread-eagled on the outside of the sitting-room window when he wanted the front door opening. It made a really loud THWACK! noise. When we got a new kitten, Kerry, he taught her how to do it and they both used to throw themselves on the window at the same time - THWACK! THWACK! We never had another cat who did that.

So that's why Scooby waits at our bedtime and leads us down the hall to the bedroom. Every Night! Then he jumps up by the sink for a brushing, andwaits till I finish my routine then wants to drink from the tap. Scout is developing some ritoileys. One is every morning he will put his paw inder the covers and poke at my legs. This is interesting. I'll have to be on the lookout for more such behavior! sss's mom
